Variegated Jade Plant (Crassula ovata variegata) is a classic succulent with thick, water-storing leaves splashed in creamy yellow or soft white or pink. The variegation adds extra color and brightness while keeping the same easygoing nature that makes jade plants so popular. Over time it can develop into a small, tree-like houseplant.

Light + Thrives in bright light with a clear view of the sky. A sunny south or west-facing window is ideal. More light helps keep the variegation strong and encourages compact growth.

Water + Let the soil dry completely between waterings, then water thoroughly. Jade plants store water in their leaves and prefer a dry period between drinks. Best to feel the leaves and wait till bottom leaves are less firm to water.

Soil + Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix and a pot with drainage holes.

Bonus + Slow-growing, long-lived, and often associated with prosperity and good fortune. Bright light may bring out subtle pink tones along the leaf edges.

A cheerful, low-maintenance plant that adds soft color and a little luck to a sunny windowsill.
