Rubber trees fall under that massive umbrella of the Ficus genus, and are probably to most recognizable cultivar. The burgundy leaved variety is most commonly found, though its colorful siblings are becoming more popular as they get more accessible! See the Tineke here and the Ruby here.

If you're wanting to have a tree indoor, this ficus is an excellent option. It's large, robust leaves make it a great statement plant. They are fairly beginner-safe with their ease of care.

Ficus Elastica can be found across the world in warm, sunny climates, and when in their ideal location can reach heights of over 100 feet! To mimic their natural environment, try giving them a nice chunky soil mix to supply oxygen to their complex roots.

Watering - This is a plant that requires very thorough watering but only when it has thoroughly dried out for a bit. Like most plants, the frequency of waterings will slow throughout the fall and winter, so make sure to check that the soil is nice and dry before giving it a good drink!

Sunshine - This cultivar thrives in indirect lighting and does not require as much direct sun as its variegated siblings. If the light conditions are too low, the plant may start growing out more leggy (it will great more stalk space between new leaves).
